Peels

For decades, chemical peels have been used to revitalize and resurface the skin. They involve applying the surface of the skin with a safe, FDA-approved chemical solution that removes the damaged outer layers of skin, revealing a younger, clearer, more radiant complexion. Chemical peels are commonly performed on the face, chest and hands

Melasma Peel
Do you have uneven skin tone, deep pigment issues or melasma? Then Melasma Peel may be the treatment for you. The Melasma Skin Lightening Peel is a revolutionary, non-invasive treatment that is proven to improve Melasma and sun damage while improving skin texture. The treatment begins in the office and is supplemented by comprehensive home care products that amplify and extend the peel benefits. If you are not ready for the extreme results of Melasma Peel, there is Melasma Pee Mini, a less aggressive form of the peel that brightens the skin.

What is the Melasma Peel Treatment?
The Melasma Skin Lightening Peel is an effective treatment for Melasma, pregnancy masque, sun spots and age spots in a non-invasive treatment. It is a superficial peel designed not only to treat hyperpigmentation, but to improve the texture and appearance of the skin. The treatment begins in
the office and continues with an at-home regimen.

What should I expect from the treatment?
Melasma Peel Masque is applied during an office visit where the clinician compounds the peel at the time of dispensing to ensure its potency and reliability. The patient’s hair should be tied back from the face to keep it free of the product. No discomfort is experienced and patients describe the procedure as soothing and relaxing. The patient leaves the office with the masque on their face, and the masque will remain on the face for 5 to 10 hours according to the patient’s skin type. Patients are then responsible for adhering to an easy-to-follow, at-home regimen involving the application of home care products provided at the treatment appointment.

What results can I expect?
Results vary but generally patients will see a significant improvement in the appearance of Melasma and other pigmented areas of the skin. Hyperpigmentation will lighten and skin texture and tone will improve. Most but not all patients experience peeling skin.

What areas can be treated?
All skin areas can be treated.

How many treatments will I need?
For the Melasma Skin Lightening Peel, one to two treatment periods are recommended and can be repeated three to four months following the first treatment if necessary. Maintenance treatments are recommended following the two peels. The Melasma Mini Skin Brightening Peel is less aggressive than the Melasma Skin Lightening Peel. Three to four of the Mini Skin Brightening Peels are equivalent to one of the Melasma Skin Lightening Peels.

What happens if my skin doesn’t peel?
Don’t worry if your skin doesn’t peel after having a Melasma Peel because you are still receiving all of the benefits of the peel including collagen stimulation, improved skin tone and texture, reduction of fine lines and improved pigmentation.

Does the Melasma Peel work on all skin types?
Unlike some lasers, the Melasma Peell works on all skin types, including darker skin. Prior to the Melasma Peel, not all darker skin responded well to peels and lasers, because of the risk of hyper- or hypopigmentation. The Melasma Peels are a breakthrough for dark skinned patients for the treatment of hyperpigmentation, fine lines, tone and texture.

What should I expect during the Acne Peel treatment?
In the office, we apply a solution to the face for 10 minutes. This solution is then removed with a pad that contains vitamin A solution. The Vitamin A solution will remain on the face for 2 hours, then the patient will wash this solution off their face at home. The skin looks shiny and moist; otherwise, it is not noticeable when leaving the office. The patient is given a full regimen of products and easy to follow instruction sheet for take home and treatment for the 2 to 3 weeks following the treatment.
